Community Guidelines

Last Updated: October 2026

iThrive Collective was created to provide connection, conversation, and practical support for adults affected by childhood sexual abuse, including incest, and the family dysfunction that can continue into adulthood.

Our community includes people with different histories, perspectives, relationships, circumstances, and ways of moving forward. You do not have to agree with everyone. You are expected to treat others with dignity and respect.

These Community Guidelines apply to Collective Circles and other interactive community spaces hosted or managed by iThrive Collective LLC.

Participate in the Way That Feels Right for You

You decide how much you participate.

You are welcome to speak, listen, reflect, or simply take in the conversation. You will never be required to describe your abuse, explain your family history, identify yourself as a survivor, or disclose personal information you do not want to share.

Passing on a question or choosing not to participate in part of a discussion is always acceptable.

We Focus on the Life You're Building Now

Collective Circles are not trauma-sharing sessions.

Personal experiences may naturally come up in conversation, but participants should avoid graphic descriptions of abuse, violence, self-harm, or other potentially distressing experiences.

Our conversations focus primarily on the ways childhood experiences and family dysfunction can affect adult life and on the choices, relationships, boundaries, confidence, connection, and possibilities participants are building now.

Respect Different Choices

There is no single correct way to respond to family dysfunction or difficult relationships.

Do not pressure another participant to confront someone, forgive someone, reconcile, end a relationship, maintain a relationship, report an experience, disclose abuse, seek a particular type of treatment, or make another significant personal decision.

You may share what has been useful in your own life. Please allow others to decide what is appropriate for theirs.

Respect Privacy

What someone chooses to share in a Collective Circle or other private iThrive community space should be treated with care.

Do not share another participant's personal story, identity, comments, or circumstances outside the group without that person's permission.

At the same time, iThrive Collective cannot guarantee that every participant will maintain confidentiality. Please use your own judgment when deciding what you choose to share.

No Recording or Screenshots

Participants may not record, photograph, screenshot, livestream, transcribe, reproduce, or distribute Collective Circle conversations or another participant's image, voice, comments, or identifying information without appropriate permission.

If iThrive Collective ever wishes to record a session or use participant content for another purpose, participants will be informed and appropriate permission will be requested.

Respect Boundaries

Respect another person's decision not to answer a question, continue a conversation, exchange contact information, or communicate outside the community.

Participation in an iThrive community space does not create an obligation to form personal relationships with other participants.

Please do not use information learned within the community to contact, investigate, identify, or locate another participant without their permission.

Respectful Conversation

Different experiences and perspectives are welcome. Personal attacks are not.

Harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying, discriminatory conduct, sexual harassment, deliberate humiliation, or abusive behavior toward another participant, facilitator, or community member is not permitted.

Disagreement should remain respectful and focused on ideas and experiences rather than attacks on another person.

No Solicitation or Exploitation

iThrive community spaces may not be used to recruit clients, sell products or services, solicit money, promote unrelated businesses, collect participant information, or otherwise take advantage of access to community members.

Resources may be shared when they are genuinely relevant to a conversation and permitted by the facilitator.

Advice and Professional Boundaries

Collective Circles are survivor-led peer community gatherings, not therapy or group therapy.

Participants should avoid presenting personal opinions or experiences as professional diagnoses or instructions for another participant.

If you are a therapist, counselor, coach, attorney, healthcare professional, or other professional participating in the community, your participation does not establish a professional relationship with other participants.

Protecting the Community

iThrive Collective may intervene when these guidelines are not followed.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include redirecting a conversation, privately addressing a concern, removing someone from a session, limiting future participation, or ending access to an iThrive community space.

Immediate action may be taken when conduct threatens the safety, privacy, dignity, or appropriate boundaries of participants.

Crisis and Emergency Support

Collective Circles and other iThrive community spaces are not crisis or emergency services and are not monitored as crisis-response channels.

If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service in your location.

In the United States, you may call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Outside the United States, please contact an appropriate crisis or emergency service in your country.
